Combo Brows

Eyebrows, eyebrows eyebrows. There is so much talk about the importance of eyebrows and all the treatments that can be done to them that it can get confusing to the consumer.

A combo brow quite simply combines both Microblading and shading. If you have been searching around to various semi-permanent makeup providers you may have come across the buzzwords 3D brows and micro-powder brows. These words are describing combo brows.

Shading is a separate technique used to fill in the brows. A shading machine is used to add soft layers of pigmentation that provide a blanket of color over the Microblading.

This blanket of color creates color density or “fill” that gives the brows definition. Shading is not hairstrokes but tiny dots of color (or pigmentation) that go over and in between the Microblading. This added color or pigmentation will make a brow more defined and dramatic. While Microblading alone can look natural and understated, shading can make the brow stand out, structuring the brow and making it more of a statement.

Combo brows has the widest appeal to our customers because it gives the best of both worlds, hairstrokes and shaded color pigmentation. Microblading although beautiful, can be too minimalist for clients, sometimes wishing they had opted for a more “filled in” look, a look that mimics their powder or pomade they wear, something they have grown accustomed too.

The beauty of a combo brow appointment is that both Microblading and shading is done in the same appointment. This models it as a fantastic treatment for those who have lesser or no eyebrows, making it perfect for clients who have alopecia, trichotillomania or hair loss due to pregnancy or overplucking.

Combo brows incorporates the natural look of hairstrokes in the front and body of the brows blending it with soft or deep shading. The shading is layered to the intensity of the clients’ desires. This treatment is versatile because more shading can be applied on the second treatment deepening the color density if the client is considering a more dramatic outcome.

Combo brows take 3+ hours. Each combo brow treatment is provided meticulously. Upon entering the studio, your BrowBeat combo brow artist will apply numbing ointment that will spend up to 40 minutes developing while your artist begins the discussions about your desired outcome. We do not rush this process as this “getting to know the client” portion is vital to understanding our client’s needs.

If you wear your brows with pencil or pomade it is best to arrive at the appointment with how you are currently wearing them. This helps the artist see what needs to be addressed, discussed and improved on. If you do not wear any brow makeup, then come as you are. Some clients like to bring example pictures of what they like or in fact what they don’t like. Feel free to bring in examples to discuss.

BrowBeat artists take all client through a 15–20-minute education on the combo brow treatment process prior to commencing. This education is helpful in putting the client at ease. Caffeine free tea, coffee and snacks are available as refreshments during this process.

The eyebrow shape is one of the most important parts of the treatment outcome. Our eyebrow shape defines our look. Some people like bold, some like slim- medium, whatever the case, our goal is to make you feel like an improved version of yourself. The objective is to enhance the natural beauty of the client, creating a low to no maintenance brow.

The brows are mapped for the client to see and approve before the process commences. Additionally, color is discussed during the education process. After the combo brow treatment process has been completed, the client is shown the brows allowing them to assess, critique and discuss the final outcome. The client is then again educated on the aftercare and how to obtain the best result during healing. At this time, the second treatment should be booked in to complete the process and secure the appointment time.

Most clients will obtain a 60 – 90 percent result on the first treatment. The second treatment is vital to complete the brows and to address minor discrepancies after healing. This meticulous second treatment / touch up is essential as there will be some pigment loss during healing. The second treatment / touchup will make the brows hold in the skin for a longer period of time.
BrowBeat artists will spend an additional 3 hours on the client during this second treatment / touchup process making sure that the brows match the style of the client and fine-tuning the Microblading and shading to the clients liking. (The second treatment / touchup is not included on this page.)

For the most savings on your combo brow booking, book Combo Brow + Touchup. When the first and second treatment are booked together, and the balance is paid in full on the day of the treatment it is a saving of $200. This discount is not offered when a single combo brow treatment is purchased.

If you have had any past Microblading, shading or tattoo before and are coming from another studio you will fall under our Correction Brow fees. Please click on the “Correction Brows” page and read about this service, then send 5 – 6 clear pictures with no brow makeup to 214 432 3077 for approval.

This doesn’t to apply to existing BrowBeat clients. If we have done your brows before, please call us on 214 432 3077 to make sure we put you with the same artist you were happy with previously. If you book online you may not get the artist you have been with in the past.
