In order to know how long microblading can last in the skin, first you must understand what microblading is.
Microblading is a version of semi- permanent make up. It is the art of implementing tiny hair strokes in the skin using a nano blade. This hairstroke flows with the formation of the natural hair making the brow line look refined, elegant and full. And.. it’s only temporary.
A body tattoo or permanent make up of yesteryear pushes ink deep into the dermis level. Microblading is a surface cut on the top of the skin, not a needle than penetrate deep into the dermis. The results are like night and day. Ink that is pushed so far down into the dermis will become permanent.

Now that you understand microblading, we can talk about how long it lasts. The artists style aka pressure, ink quality, and precision will play a role in how long this art with stay. Additionally, the skins thickness, moisture level, and lifestyle will all play a role.
Let me evaluate. Remember just now when we spoke about how pushing ink deep in the skin makes things more permanent?
The deeper the ink is pushed, the more longevity the ink will have. This means if your artist has a heavy hand, your microblading may last longer than someone who doesn’t.
Is this a good think you ask? The answer is NO. It’s not a good thing.
The harder your artist presses, the more likely it is to cause damage. That’s the reality of it. Microblading should be delicate, shallow, and precise. The blade pressure must be even so you don’t end up with uneven work. There is a real art to us, something that cannot be learned overnight.
If you have oily skin, your microblading may not last as long as someone who has dry skin. Oily skin is constantly lubricated, and this constant moisture makes the microblading fade quicker.
But, good news for those of you who have dry skin. Dry skin people will always get the most retention. Dry skin, thin skin, and mature skin wins over all. As we age, our skin surface regeneration slows down considerably. With slower regeneration, the sim layers are not sloughing off. Thus therefore making these people have much more longevity is their microblading experience.
The quality of ink is also going to navigate how long and how good your microblading is going to last. If your artist is using just regular tattoo ink, expect your results to be short lived and funky.
Tattoo ink is not made to sit shallow in the skin, it’s made to sit deep, so it tends to fade much much quicker than inks that are specifically formulated for microblading. Additionally, you may end up with funny hues leftover, so do your research.
